This morning as I drank my coffee I watched Channel nine for my local “what’s up?”. There was a segment on Aspen Colorado concerning their efforts at marketing to their summer customer (front range Colorado). By the way Aspen had a smashing winter ski season. X games were a smashing success, again.
This summer Aspen is offering gasoline vouchers, free use of bicycles, and budget room rates. For retail shoppers they are offering discount shopping vouchers as well.
All this offered by the Aspen Chamber of Commerce.
The Estes Park Chamber is almost bankrupted by the town, evicted- thrown out on the street. The Estes Park Chamber can’t even afford to pay their own natural gas bill The irony is that is almost exactly represents, the Estes Park businesses; almost bankrupt, one step, fire or flood away from going belly up. How embarrassing.
