In summary the article took umbrage with the content of the town’s mandatory notice blaming the citizens of Estes Park for the high lead content discovered in the drinking water.
The Estes Parkian correctly identified the problem as a point source issue. The source being the town’s treatment plants which were not stabilizing the drinking water prior to distribution leaving the universal solvent to dissolve your pipes.
Town staff identified you as the problem but spent 8 million dollars on treatment plant up grades which were just completed. We were told improvements would be 4 million dollars but ended up costing 8 million (but who’s counting?)
